Description: Ambient recording in Yellowstone.
Notes: Placed recorder at the edge of an open field near a turnoff along the road near Blacktail Deer Creek. Quiet recording with occasional traffic. This recording is almost devoid of animal sounds, illustrating the influence of season and time of day on ambient sound levels and sound character. Winds calm at start of the recording, but increasing throughout the recording. Skies clear, temperature 45 degrees Fahrenheit, humidity 56%. Recorded using the internal microphones from the Sony PCMD50 recorder in an xy pattern at a 44.1 kHz/24 bit sampling rate.
