Description: Dawn at King Canyon in Saguaro National Park, Arizona
Notes: Recorded at 5:35 AM at the base of a draw along the King Canyon trail, approximately 1.5 miles from the trail-head; elevation 3193 feet; temperature was 73 degrees Fahrenheit at the beginning of the recording with temperatures increasing rapidly as the sun rose; skies were clear and winds were calm; humidity was high, and monsoon rains had occurred approximately 1.5 days prior to the recording; audible species include Cactus Wren, Rufus-crowned Sparrow, Verdin, Gilded Flicker, Gila Woodpecker, Curve-billed Thrasher, Spotted Towhee, Canyon Towhee, and Gambel's Quail; recorded with Sennheiser MKH30 and MKH40 microphones in a stereo MS pattern to a Sound Devices 722 recorder at a 44.1 kHz/24 bit sampling rate; the GPS coordinates were N 32 degrees 15.427' W 11 degrees 09.608'
