Notes: The sound of thunder from the summer monsoons triggers these desert toads to emerge and begin their breeding calls. Mexican Spadefoot and Couch's Spadefoot toads are heard in the foreground, with Great Plains Toads calling in the distance. Recorded at 10:45 PM in full darkness. Habitat: mesquite savannah; temperature 74.6 degrees Fahrenheit; humidity 86%. Small pond. Water temperature 20.8 degrees Celsius (measured at 1 cm.)
