Description: Ivan Doig's cousin Gordon Doig describes the importance of radio broadcasts to ranchers. He is responding to a question about weather forecasts and speaks about the importance of access to news about weather conditions. He also talks about how ranchers would gather to listen to weekly boxing matches on the radio. Recorded at approximately 9:00 AM. The interview is mixed with recordings of a radio broadcast of a prize fight between Tony Zale and Rocky Graziano in the late 1940s. The interview was recorded, edited and mixed by Jeff Rice for the Acoustic Atlas.
